For Engineers & SUE

QL-B designation, documented to the standard your deliverable requires.

For engineering, SUE and public-agency work, we provide Quality Level B subsurface utility designation per ASCE/UESI/CI 38-22, using ground-penetrating radar and active electromagnetic methods.

A ground-penetrating radar B-scan: two high-amplitude hyperbolic returns over a low-amplitude field, with one target flagged at 1.4 feet, Quality Level B. TARGET · 1.4 ft · QL-B DEPTH (ft) 1 2 3 DISTANCE → LOW HIGH

What QL-B means, and what it doesn't

We designate the horizontal position and existence of subsurface utilities from surface geophysics — Quality Level B under ASCE 38-22. We do not provide QL-A: we don't expose or physically verify utilities, and we don't certify depth to survey grade. That boundary is stated plainly on every deliverable, so your reliance is calibrated to what the method actually supports.

Deliverables that fit your workflow

Surface markings in the APWA colour code with attribution. A photographed field record. Where the scope calls for it, a georeferenced utility map compiled from the field data using GPS positioning — not a CAD drawing, but a documented QL-B map you can bring into your own base. An extended written report is available where the decision warrants a documented interpretation.

Why a subcontractor, not a crew

You get clear communication, consistent field notes, and documentation aligned to a standard you can defend to your client. Responsibility for interpretation stays explicit from field collection through delivery.
