Why it is worth the trip
The Railroad Commission of Texas participates in the Texas 811 Summit series, which makes it one of the few places to hear enforcement and rule direction directly rather than second-hand. 3Jump to source 3 Given the state's 2026 strike numbers, that agenda is likely to be pointed.
For a West Texas or El Paso operation, Galveston is a long way. The offsetting argument is that the summit is where the statewide damage prevention community actually convenes, and where changes get signalled before they reach a rule document.
